**Matching Funds: We have received a gift of $5,000 matching funds from the United Lutheran Church Foundation supporting all gifts to Africa.

Endowed Scholarship

Dr. Mark Jacobson, long time missionary in Tanzania, passed away in February, 2022. This Endowed Scholarship has been established to memorialize and honor Mark & Linda Jacobson's lifetime of work dedicated to the citizens of Tanzania.

This endowment has been created to "empower Tanzanians to care tor Tanzanians", will provide scholarships and will also provide funds to continue and enhance Linda's work in support of women and children.

A gift given to the Selian Hospice in Arusha, Tanzania will support the Selian Hospice and Palliative Care program that is committed to providing palliative care services to people with life threatening illnesses with the compassion and love of Jesus Christ. Foundation for Cancer Center in Tanzania

The Foundation for Cancer Care in Tanzania enhances cancer care to improve the lives of citizens of Tanzania through proactive education programs, early detection and diagnosis, treatment and palliatve care.

A gift given to this foundation, honoring Dr. Mark Jacobson's life and career as a medical missionary in Tanzana.

ALMC School of Nursing Scholarship

In the Monduli region of Tanzania, Africa, there is an exciting project going on. A group of Maasai women who have recently been baptized decided they would build their own church to worship in together. They have been working on this project with their bare hands for over three years now with limited finances and supplies. We have helped them with funds for a roof, window frames and doors, but they are not finished yet.

Moringe Sokoine School

In Tanzania, the Moringe Sokoine Secondary School is an advanced secondary school (high school) that has grown in the last few years as students continue to get high marks. They now have a student population of 650!

Like other secondary schools, Moringe Sokoine still faces educational challenges like underpaid teachers, overcrowded classrooms, and a lack of basic supplies.

Local Gifts

Global Friends Coalition

Global Friends Coalition is an organization in Grand Forks that assists new immigrants in resettling. They have welcomed and helped many families and individuals this year and are expecting more in the coming year. Global Friends and many volunteers set up housing, provide transportation, assist in integration through English Language classes and in many other ways.

Your gift will help them in their humanitarian work.

Education Gifts - Local

Phoenix/Backpack Program

Phoenix Elementary School is our neighborhood school where students come first. We want to help all kids at Phoenix succeed, so we’ve started the Phoenix Fund! The Phoenix fund will be used to provide shoes, coats, mittens, medication, park district scholarships and more to children and families in need. The Backpack Program helps provide food 1 weekend per month.

Your gift will provide our neighborhood kids with basic needs that will in turn help them enjoy school and learning!
