The purpose of our ministry is to develop programs for youth and families and promote participation of youth and families in the activities of the congregation.

 

Our ministry sponsors youth and family oriented events like rally Sunday and un-rally Sunday, the fall hayride, participation in the synod youth gatherings and ELCA Youth Gatherings, the ski trip, ice skating parties, youth fun nights, senior high youth group, mission trips, youth ministry fundraisers, the chili cook-off, and much more.

Summer Bible Camp for Middle Schoolers

Grades 5-6-7-8

 

Middle School Classic @ Camp Emmaus, July 12-17

This camp is just for youth entering grades 6-7.  Are you ready for an amazing adventure? Come enjoy favorite camp activities, make new friends, swim, canoe, camp out, worship, engage in Bible studies and have plenty of fun! You will also get to venture on the low and high ropes course and challenge yourself! Grab your friends and sign up for this camp! Camp begins with check-in on Sunday at 3:00 pm and ends Friday with a closing worship and lunch at noon.  The cost is $375.  Talk to Pastor Tony concerning registration and financial need.  Registration fills up quickly, and is on a first-come-first-served basis.

 

 

 Middle School WET & WILDerness @ Camp Emmaus, July 12-17

This camp is for youth entering grades 7-8-9.  Ready for a WILD summer?! This camp combines a challenge course experience, water sports, and wilderness camping. Begin your week at Camp Emmaus to participate in the low and high challenge course to prepare yourself physically and mentally for the week ahead.   The Crow Wing River will be your home for the next three days. Paddle and camp your way downstream until Thursday morning where you will be shuttled to Luther Crest. Celebrate your journey's end water skiing on the clear, blue waters of Lake Carlos or spend time at a nearby water park.  The cost is $375.  Talk to Pastor Tony concerning registration and financial need.  Registration fills up quickly on a first-come-first-served basis, and we have just five spots.

 

(FYI: With your registration we will need a $100 non-refundable deposit.)

2009 New Orleans Youth Gathering

 

We are currently working toward the 2009 the ELCA Youth Gathering will be held in New Orleans, Louisiana!  We are looking forward to a faith adventure like no other.  Our group will consist of 19 youth and 5 adults who will be worshipping, working and learning with over 36,000 others at this event.  Please keep us in your prayers and we appreciate your support as we fundraise and prepare together.  If you would like to learn more or help support our young people in this mission, please contact the church office. Youth and Family Ministry plans a monthly activity for the whole family of United Lutheran Church. Check the Uniter for this month’s activity. Confirmation for 7th - 9th graders meets on Wednesdays through the school year.
