United Lutheran Church is the result of a merger of three early Lutheran congregations in Grand Forks: Zion, Trinity and First. Click here for the History of United. From those beginnings, United has been an active and vital ministry presence in the Grand Forks community for nearly 125 years.

United Lutheran Church is located near the heart of downtown Grand Forks. Its art deco facility, on the historic register of buildings, has been home to a rich history of worship, mission and celebration of the arts. Today that history inspires but does not bind the present life of the congregation.

At United you'll find a diversity of people: young and old, people from all walks of life, those who have been life-long church members and those who are brand new to the faith. Throughout the life of the congregation, United seeks to integrate and not separate the variety of peoples and ages. You'll also find variety of expressions in our worship styles: contemporary, traditional, and a blending of both.

The congregation is large enough to provide a host of worship, education, outreach and fellowship activites. And yet at United you'll never feel like a number making your way through the crowd. United's newest members most often comment that they chose United as their church home because they felt a sense of welcome and home here.
