2009 New Orleans Youth Gathering

Dear Youth and Parents,

It is already time to start working toward the the ELCA Youth Gathering will be held in New Orleans. Here are a few things to know about the trip:

2009 New Orleans Youth Gathering

This trip will be open to those in grades 9-12 next year, so this years 8-11 graders and adult guides (21+).
The dates are July 22-26, 2009 (gathering only, does not include travel days).
The estimated cost is $1300 per person, with includes travel, registration, food, and lodging).
We are asking that each youth participant pay $400 deposit. $50 is due upon registration. The other $350 is required in seven $50 increments due in November ’07, February ’08, May ’08, August ’08, November ’08, February ’08, and May ’08.
Each participant is to complete 40 hours of community service in preparation for the trip.
Deadline for registration is January 4, 2009.

The sooner you sign up, the sooner we can get your spot secured. Yes, friends can come along, but we need everyone and their families to work together to make fundraising and preparations happen! Once you sign up, you are responsible for all costs incurred, whether you go or not. Also, any costs that are not covered by your participation in fundraising, must be covered by your family.
